Danish nails are the “L” shaped nails used in Danish cord weaving.
These L shaped nails are fastened to the inside of the chair frame of Danish chairs that have Danish cord seats. The Danish cord is looped around these nails in order to change weaving direction. Not all Danish chairs require nails.
If you are redoing a chair that requires Danish Nails, it is not necessary to remove them – just loosen the nails to remove material.
